Police Martyrs Day is being observed nationwide today to remember the brave police officers who sacrificed their lives for the country in the war against terror. Kasur DPO Syed Muntazir Mehdi along with Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Arshad laid floral wreaths on the memorial of martyrs at Kasur Police Line today. Addressing a gathering at this occasion, DPO Mehdi said that martyrs of police are our pride and their sacrifices are unforgettable. “Nation will never forget those who laid their lives to save the lives and properties of the citizens,” he said, adding that “sacrifices of fellow police officers have boosted the morale of Kasur police”. “Till today, 28 officers and other members of police have been martyred in the line of duty,” said the DPO. Kasur Deputy Commissioner Rana Arshad in his address said that his doors are open to solve the problems the families of the martyrs might have been facing. “We are and will continue to solve these problems on priority,” said Arshad. DSP City Muhammad Arshad, ASP Sadar Zubair Nazeer, DSP Chunian Arshad Hayat, DSP Pattoki Muhammad Saleem, DSP Legal Sh. Fiaz Ahmad, ASP UT Doctor Anam Faryal, SHOs of all police stations, police officers, Incharge CTD Kasur Abdul Wahid, Personnel of IB, Special Branch, Punjab Highway Patrol, journalists, traders and others were present at the occasion. In the ceremony a motorbike was gifted to the son of martyred Muhammad Younas. A joint lunch was also hosted for the families of martyrs.
