PAKPATTAN: A Matric student was kidnapped from Baba Farid shrine in Pakpattan around two weeks ago and nothing has yet been done for her recovery, family of the girl claimed on Wednesday. According to details, the teenager came to the shrine to offer prayers and while she was returning back home with her father, she was kidnapped by Nazar Farid, who is a serving as a police constable in Arifwala station in Pakpattan, the girl’s family claimed. According to the teenager’s father, the police constable dragged the girl to his vehicle and fled the area with his fellows. Speaking to the media, the victim’s mother complained about lack of cooperation from the police despite the fact that her daughter has been missing for 13 days. She also said that the police has not registered a First Information Report (FIR) of the case until now. She requested interim Punjab Chief Minister Hassan Askari, IGP Kaleem Imam, RPO Sahiwal and others to take action and recover her daughter from the kidnapper’s custody otherwise she will commit suicide in front of the IG office. However on the other hand, DPO Pakpattan Rizwan Umer Gondal has suspended the constable accused in the kidnapping of the girl. Talking to Daily Times, he said that the allegations of the mother of the kidnapped girl regarding lack of police cooperation are not true and that the police is not helping the constable at all. He said that they have also order the concerned SHO to register an FIR against the constable and that they are investigating the matter with the help of latest technology and will recover the girl soon.
