ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Roshan Khurshid Bharucha on Friday said no one can deny the importance of technical and vocational education in the socio-economic development of the country and in this regard services of the non-governmental organisations are highly commendable. She expressed these views at the inauguration ceremony of Azmat Pakistan Vocational Training Centre in Phulgran near Baharakahu, Islamabad. She said that Azmat Pakistan has rendered remarkable services for promotion of education and bringing the out of school children into the loop. She appreciated the commendable role played by Azmat Pakistan Executive Director Wafa Amjad Malik and Azmat Pakistan Founding Director Amjad Parvez Malik for the remarkable milestones achieved in a short time. She called upon the philanthropists to come forward and help those in need of assistance for education and other facilities. She expressed her well wishes to the management of Azmat Pakistan Foundation and assured her cooperation in promoting the noble cause. She also shared her thoughts and experiences about the social services she has delivered for promoting education in the province of Baluchistan. In her opening remarks, Wafa Amjad Malik highlighted the overall objectives of the foundation and highlighted the successes achieved so far. She said that the foundation was striving to provide assistance to destitute, needy and oppressed communities in the rural and underprivileged areas. She said that insufficiency of resources or lack of proper parental patronage results in a number of problems, however, through commitment and practical steps remedy can be worked out. She further said that after successful establishment of shelter homes and launch of a school in Bari Imam area, Azmat Pakistan Foundation has decided to establish Vocational Training Centre to train poor girls and needy women in different professions and trades to help them live a respectable life. She said that the foundation will not only impart training but will also assist those who intend to establish their own businesses by providing interest free loans from Akhuwat Foundation. Dr Wang Fing and former member of the National Assembly, Rehana Qamar also addressed the ceremony. Later the federal minister also inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre.
