Pakistani crickter Umar Akmal on Monday appeared before the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) where he was inquired about his “spot-fixing” claims.
ACU head (retd) Azam asked several questions and listened to Akmal’s answers during the session that lasted for more than two hours.
The right handed batsman was aksed to appear before the tribunal on June 27 again.
During a TV interview, the right-handed batsman made shocking revealations about match fixing offers he got during 2015 World Cup saying bookies offered him $0.2 million to leave two balls in the first match against India in the tournament.
Akmal said that similar offers were made to him in the past to miss matches against India.
“Similar offers have been made in the past as well. In the matches with India I’ve been told to make some excuse and opt out of the game for which I would be paid,” said the batsman.
“I have told those people that I am committed to Pakistan and to not approach me ever with such offers,” he continued.
Sports jouralist Faizan Lakhani, in his tweet, said he wonders if Umar Akmal had ever reported these approaches, if not, then this statement will get him in more trouble.

However, the batsman claimed that he had repeatedly informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the offers being made to him.
Akmal is currently not in the team due to his fitness issues and attitude towards the game.
