Ever since the new world order was launched, the world has become a pigeonhole for humanity, terribly marred by toxic alienation, where truth is a fallacy, not spoken for its own sake but to attain a goal. As the poet Aime Cesaire says, the only thing worth starting “is the end of the world” and the apocalypse is already in progress. History is rewriting human destiny — humanity has been held hostage by the irrationality of capitalism since the 1930. Capitalism was imposed to ‘save’ us from socialism — however, it seems that dominant interests only sought a refuse in fascism. The capitalistic climate is changing; scary slogans of making a nation ‘great again’ are staging a comeback. Instead of Germans, this time it is the nonplussed American bourgeoisie, which is failing to resurrect its ailing economy, and is in a frenzy to take the world to another war. All possible means to maintain the empire’s hegemony of the world, including the trade embargoes, tariff restrictions, and economic sanctions, are blatantly imposed, and all are escorting the world to the ‘blutund boden’ (blood and soil) solution. War is the ultimate solution to capitalistic afflictions, so is the concept of nation state that owes its origin to the dynamics of competing markets and rapid exchange. However, capital merely flirts with ideas without binding eternal ties with them. In Europe, the realisation of capital required a common market and cheap labour, hence the process of globalisation brought a mélange of nations-states under the umbrella of a union but in Yugoslavia, the people of same ethnicity were partitioned on religious lines. In case of the Ottoman Empire where religion was common, the ethno-racial card helped divide and subdivide the frontiers of different states while in India and Palestine the religious card worked effectively. The state of Israel was one such product. By turning the majority Arab population into a minority, Israel not only created a constant war like situation in the Middle East but halted the march of the progressive forces as well. In the subcontinent, Pakistan stymied the progress of socialism in Asia. The question remains, how long can Israel keep 2.5 million people in a ghetto? In Europe, the python of fascism is raising its head again, and its poison is strongly anti-Semitic. Time may soon be up for this nation To enhance imperialist designs, both countries played their role as frontline states. In Pakistan, generals guaranteed the suppression of progressive forces at the cost of the state’s own dismemberment and the process seems endless. Israel has not fared any better. In the process of annexing a state and keeping its borders vaguely defined, it has turned into a slaughterhouse of humanity that lives by letting Palestinian blood flow. It demands a permanent sacrifice from its subjects by repeatedly inflicting the same injustices once carried out by the Nazis to its people, employing the cunning of reason that effectively nullifies its own sacrifice. In the recent great March of Millions, Palestinians were crushed without any measure of mercy, the worst coercion of history, which has undermined the tragedy of Holocaust. ‘The world of concentration camp’ Marcuse says ‘was not all that monstrous society… what we saw there was an image, a quintessence of an infernal society in which we are forced to live everyday”. Here the world has seen the hypocrisy of the western humanity, its falsified ideals, the abstraction of its slogans of equality, fraternity, and the striptease of its humanism that censors Steve Bell’s cartoon but on the other hand jealously guards the craft of Jyllands-Posten as kosher. Violence breeds violence. “No indulgence” Sartre says “can erase the marks of violence: violence alone can eliminate them”. Anarchy and violence are inherent in the capitalist mode of production. Its overproduction of commodities and loss of rate of profit push the army of unemployed workers into a surplus population. Anything out of the productive process is meaningless hence annihilated. “The private property” Engels states, “has turned man into a commodity whose production and destruction also depend solely on demand, the system of competition has thus slaughtered, and daily continues to slaughter, millions of men”. Everyone knows that the terrorism attributed to Palestinians and destructive- nihilism of the Jewish ruling class is a false social construct and advanced to masquerade the actual capitalistic dynamics of its realisation through war. Israel has cemented its place among the world community as a symbol of terror and hate. Its hands are drenched in Palestinians blood and it cannot deny the charge of murdering unarmed innocent people. In particular circumstances, the anti-Semitic card could bring favourable results but in changed or changing objective conditions it turns out to be a hackneyed phrase and may backfire, people finally call one’s bluff. This is the nature of gambling, which is the basis of this lethal system. In Europe, the python of fascism is raising its head again, and its poison is strongly anti-Semitic. During the 1930s, Jews found themselves in great peril, and those bells seem to be ringing once more. Europe’s dissenter shave not been particularly vocal because they are watching the US for ques. However, they have no love lost with Zionism. With the rising tide of migrants, faltering economic conditions, a large number of educated exiled Palestinians living in these countries have altered its social dynamics. The social media has changed the world, which has come a long way away from 1948 when one could have gotten away with the massacres of Sabra and Shatila’s proportion unscathed. With a population of over five million, the garrisoned state of Palestine is itself a large consumer market. For a capitalist state, a God sent opportunity that not only provides the cheapest labour but a large number of commodity consumers who do not insist on selling their products in exchange, at least not at market price. Even when the remaining Arab states have given up paying even a lip service to the cause of Palestine Europe would not like to leave this market, uncontested dominated by the Israeli goods alone. Immediately prior to 1990, the world was changing, so was Israel. Needing to utilise the cheap labour, it nearly decided to recognise the state of Palestine but then came the tragedy of history. The fall of the Soviet Union brought a large number of Jewish settlers, both from Russia and from the Eastern Europe. That change of demography made the Palestinian labour redundant. Israel had its own settlers to exploit. Gaza became the largest prison of the world. The question remains, how long can Israel keep 2.5 million people in a ghetto without basic needs of survival. When death is the only choice, it will not take long for a murderous rampage to be the only alternative left for the colonised. The writer has authored books on socialism and history.
