SHIKARPUR: The death toll reached five on Monday after the clash of Teghani and Bijarani communities as another injured Bijarani tribesman succumbed to his injuries at the Sukkur Hospital. According to a report, at least four villagers including two alleged criminals were killed while seven others sustained critical bullet wounds in an armed attack that took place at Mehran Bijarani village, situated near Katcha area of Khanpur tehsil of Shikarpur district. According to the police officer Fatah Muhammad, Muhammad Yahya died during treatment while Walidad, Adam, Punhal, Ashraf, Gulsher, and Muhammad Nooh are undergoing treatment. All of them belong to Bijarani community. Consequently, police pickets were established at entrance and exit points near Katcha area to prevent further deterioration in the region. The deadly dispute began approximately nine years ago when both groups claimed their ownership over a piece of agricultural land and cattle theft.
