LARKANA: Sindh is a land of love, peace and religious harmony where people belonging to different faiths live together in harmony, said Khawaja Moin-ud-din Mehboob, caretaker of Khuwaja Ghulam Fareed shrine of Kot Mithan (Punjab).
He talked to media after offering prayers at the graves of martyred Bhutto leaders in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on Thursday.
He urged that terrorism has to be eradicated from the entire country to maintain peace and tranquility. Setting their differences aside political, religious and other stakeholders need to work together for a permanent solution.
He said Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their precious lives for the future of our country.
He condemned suicide bombing at the holy shrines of saints. “If rulers spend 50% of the amount collected from shrines on the distribution of food, security, maintenance and development projects, then major issues can be resolved,” he said.
He urged the government to spend on the shrines of Hazrat Shah Abdul Lateef Bhittai and Qalandar Lal Shahbaz to facilitate the visitors.
He claimed that the government collects Rs130 million annually from the Dargah of Khuwaja Ghulam Fareed but nothing has been spent on the shrine for its maintenance.
Hafiz Mushtaque Korejo, Salim Solangi, Abdul Qadir Odho, Samad Jamal, Noor Soomro and others were also present at the occasion.
