PARIS: Brazilian legend Pele on Saturday said that Neymar is stylistically more similar to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi than to Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. “Cristiano Ronaldo is an excellent player, he could be like our Vava, our Coutinho, the finisher. Neymar is really more of a Messi-style, one who constructs the play, but scores the goal also,” Pele said while speaking to ESPN football. Neymar, who finished third to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2015 and 2017 Ballon d’Or titles, has been compared to the two on multiple occassions. The 25-year-old is currently out of action due to an injury and is unlikely to feature in any of Paris-Saint Germain (PSG)’s remaining fixtures. He, however, will make his return just before the start of the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
