DADU: Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the PPP is all set for the upcoming general election in the country. “This is the year of general elections and every political party is preparing for elections. The PPP is also ready for the occasion.” He was speaking to journalists after attending a hi-tea arranged by PPP leader Ghuma Nabi Solangi in Sehwan town on Sunday. Murad Ali Shah said he hoped that for the election of the Senate chairman all parties would support the candidates fielded by the party with most number of seats in the upper house of the Parliament. He said that PPP top leadership would decide the names of the candidates for senate chairman soon. On PML-N quaid Nawaz Sharif’s recent support for Raza Rabbani, he said that no political party had a right to propose names of members of another party. On PTI, he said PTI chief Imram Khan had been defeated all over the country. He said that PTI had no votebank in Sindh. He said that PPP was gaining strength in KP as well. Murad Ali Shah said that based on the current political climate it appeared that no particular political party would be able to secure a simple majority in the upcoming general elections, adding parties would need to come together and form an alliance for forming the next government. On the issue of irrigation water shortage, he said he had already asked IRSA to look into the matter. He said that a suggestion had been communicated to the authority to release water from dams, but they had yet to hear from it on the matter. He said that schemes were being prepared to eradicate water shortage forever in Sindh. He said that Sindh government was following the directives of the Water Commission since a year. He said that Reverse Osmosis plants of Manchhar Lake will be functional very soon. He said that Sindh government would ensure that the issue of delimitations of the constituencies was solved in the best possible interest of the public. Later, he visited the residence of PPP leader Abdul Sattar Baloch in Jhangara Town where he offered Fateha on the death of the latter’s mother and attended a hi-tea arranged by PPP leader Raees Habibullah Rind. Earlier, he visited village Pipri and offered Fateha with PPP leader Syed Zaffar Ali Shah and DHO health Dr Syed Sikandar Ali Shah on the death of their sister.
