LAHORE: A walk was arranged on the occasion of World Kidney Day at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital on Thursday to create awareness regarding kidney diseases among masses. Chairman and dean of the hospital Dr Fareed Ahmed Khan lead the walk. A number of professors, doctors, nurses and paramedic staff also participated. Addressing the participants, Dr Fareed Ahmed Khan said that the medical camp was also arranged to facilitate the public to get their blood pressure, sugar and other tests done free of cost. He said that high blood pressure and diabetes were the main causes of kidney diseases. Dr Fareed said that the purpose of knowledge was to raise awareness about the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the diseases to the masses. He said that the walk proved to be a big success as it provided useful information on symptoms of kidney diseases, modern preventive measures and treatments. Published in Daily Times, March 9th 2018.
