ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate of Islamabad, Muhammad Saqib Bhatti, has declared Toyota Rawal Motors Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nadeem Khalid a proclaimed offender while directing the station house officer (SHO) concerned to arrest him. The accused was continuously avoiding his appearance before the court in a case related to illegal land grabbing of a private property owned by Kamaluddin Khan situated in Sar-e-Madhu, Islamabad. The owner of said land is a banker in Islamabad. According to information available, first of all the land was sold by a criminal, Boby Khan, through deception at throw away price. The land was once again sold by Malik Arshad to owner of Toyota showroom Nadeem Khalid. Nadeem Khalid had himself got registered an FIR against Malik Arshad for fraudulently selling the land to him. Even then he continued to occupy the land and started illegal construction there. Also, Nadeem Khalid in connivance with police had got registered a false case of firing against the real owner, forcing him to sell the land. The real owner of the land, Kamaluddin Khan, remained deprived of the possession of his ancestral land despite the fact that he had got registered three FIRs at Tarnol Police Station against land grabber(s). An order passed by Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Saqib Bhatti in one of aforementioned cases had declared that the evidence available on the record suggested that the accused was avoiding the process of law wilfully. “He is declared a proclaimed offender. SHO concerned is directed to intact name of accused in relevant register,” the order stated, adding: “Let his perpetual warrants of arrest be issued in the name of SHO with direction that whenever Nadeem Khalid s/o Naseer Khalid is arrested, he shall be produced before the court to face trail in accordance with law.” The court further ordered to initiate proceedings against sureties and to forfeit his bail bonds while ordering to cancel such bail, if granted. In its order, the court also directed to initiate a process for the attachment of property of Toyota Rawal Motors CEO. The court further directed the SHO concerned to take coercive measures for the arrest of the accused, including the blockage of CNIC of the accused. A joint investigation team of Islamabad police had already declared Kamaluddin the actual owner of the said land, but in spite of this the influential land mafia continued to grab the land. The aggrieved person showed his satisfaction over the order passed by the court and demanded local police to take action as per the spirit of the decision. Published in Daily Times, March 7th 2018.
