LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy has urged his teammates to raise their game even higher in the 2018 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he believes their rivals will be out to get them. Zalmi, under Sammy’s leadership last year, won the PSL – a feat their skipper believes would require an even greater effort this time as they will be targeted by the rest of the league’s franchises. Sammy said on Tuesday: “My team needs to come out and execute our plan because all the other captains are coming for us. We need to play good cricket.” He said that instead of focusing on the final, that will take place on March 25 in Karachi, the team will “take one match at a time.” Admiring the PSL trophy that was unveiled earlier, Sammy said it would look better in Peshawar Zalmi office cabinet. Zalmi will be facing the Multan Sultans on March 22 – the opening day of the PSL – at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Published in Daily Times, February 21st 2018.
