Hyderabad: The richest in the world are rich because they all preferred entrepreneurship over jobs in either public or private establishments. Individual and collaborative enterprises pave pathways to progress, prosperity, personal fulfillment and permanent success. This was said by Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat, Vice-Chancellor, University of Sindh in his presidential remarks at inaugural session of the 3rd 2-day international conference on “Business, Economics and Information Technology” organized by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Campus, Dadu at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of University of Sindh, Jamshoro. Dr. Burfat cited several success stories in the given context, bracketing sparkling careers of successful entrepreneurs from Sindh, Pakistan and the world. Dr. Burfat further said that the world was fast changing due to revolutionary innovations in the fields of science and technology. “One can do all but marvel at the rapid and incredible transformations the world has come to witness is the last five years; and the ten years that are to ensue are set to spot yet more wonders in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, animation and automation”, he asserted. Dr. Burfat, by screening a few video clips relevant to points he was seeking to make, elaborated that in some years’ time one would not be getting to need to visit medical practitioners in person, or to call on a lawyer to consult; as both facilities would be available on a portable robotic device. Congratulating the conference organizer Pro-Vice-Chancellor MBBS SU Campus Dadu Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed; Dr. Burfat said he was glad to see integration and triangulation of three seminal success components i.e. business, economics and information technology as all three were in-cluster exclusives. “I am indeed delighted to behold diverse galaxy of researchers, scholars and experts from in and outside Pakistan participating in this 2-day moot. I am sanguine that the deliberations made therein and the recommendations formulated and forwarded thereby will go a long way towards benefitting the live, virtual and the cascade audiences”, he stressed while addressing an oversized number of students in the hall. The event host and Pro-Vice-Chancellor MBBS SU Campus Dadu Prof. Dr. Anwar Ali Shah G. Syed in his welcome speech said that it was for the third consecutive time that they were organizing international moot on the given the theme. “We are organizing this conference to bring world’s renowned business and IT experts to our academia and students so that they learnt from those internationally-acclaimed icons, and also obtained latest updates, insights and excellences in the areas under this intellectual exchange”, he said. Dr. Shah added that opportunities waited galore for those who were poised, passionate and willing to work. Prof. Dr. Irfanullah Malik as Punjab University, Lahore, in his views as guest of honor emphasized the need for quality assurance in education. “Quality in today’s time means our adaptation to ever-changing patterns of knowledge, communication and media of interaction. Quality education would not be possible without having firsthand and facile recourse to ultra-modern means of doing things”, he insisted. He advised youth to invest more time, effort and energy in acquainting themselves with every-other day-arriving state-of-the art apps and gadgets and forge ahead in collaborations to make the most of the miracles science and technology has made available to them. British scholar Dr. Mehmood Shah made a detailed presentation on cyber security threats, pilferage pitfalls and safety procedures. Dr. Shah quoted a number of instances in which data of most confidential and sensitive nature was tempered through furtive insertion of fake viruses at various places in the world. Many other national and international scholars including Prof. Dr. Nadeem Bhatti, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Sajid, Dr. Syed Tahir Aijazi, Dr. Zahida Abro and others also spoke on the occasion. The conference guests were presented with memento shields and other traditional souvenirs. Among others Pro-Vice-Chancellors of various SU campuses, deans of various academic faculties, academic and administrative heads, faculty, researchers and large number of students participated in the event.
