PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Wednesday said that his government has taken practical steps for promotion of Islamic values and religious education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking at a function at the Jamaat Ishaat-e-Tauheed Wa Sunnah, he said that the religious scholars deserve respect and government support for their services to Islam and society. He said that his government had not only taken steps for promotion of modern education but also initiated programmes for the introduction of religious education at every level. He said that Khatm-e-Nabuwwat was made part of the curriculum to create awareness among the youth about the finality of prophethood. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of the Madrassa Ayesha that would cost Rs 5 million. Published in Daily Times, January 11th 2018.
