GUJRANWALA: A man beat up his wife for not giving him money to purchase narcotics in Nokhar, Gujranwala. The victim, while talking to the media at the DHQ Hospital, said that her husband was a drug addict. “He demanded money to purchase the drugs. When I refused, he started beating me up with a stick,” she said. Kot Ladha Police is investigating. Ammunition seized: Police arrested two suspects and seized 15,000 bullets from them. Police said that acting on a tip off, they seized the bullets of different calibers from a vehicle at Nigar Phatak. Two suspects Ali Raza and Zeeshan were arrested. The accused said that they had purchased the ammunition and were going to supply it to various cities of the Punjab. Crackdown on kite flying: Civil Lines Police started a crackdown against kite flying and arrested two suspects. They sized 4,000 kites and other material from them. Irshad and Usman said these kites were being supplied to Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. They seized 1,060 grams of explosive material, two detonators and a fuse. The suspects belong to a banned outfit. Patwaris arrested: The Anti-Corruption Department arrested two patwaris last week. Patwari Muhammad Ansar was involved in a corruption case while Patwari Abdul Majeed was involved in a bogus education certificate case.
