Citizens deprived of cash,valuables in multiple hits

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in 29 robberies on Saturday.

In Saddar Gujranwala, robbers looted Rs 30,000, gold ornaments and cell phones from Khaqan; in Dhulley area, bandits snatched Rs 60,000, two cell phones from Ahad, in Wahndo, dacoits took away Rs 115,000, gold set and cell phone from Shahbaz; at Ferozewala, armed men intercepted Qamar and looted Rs 50,000, a gold ring and cell phone from Qamar; Masood was deprived of Rs 10,000, motor cycle and cell phone on gun point at Nigar Road; and swindlers looted Rs 28, gold ornaments and cell phone from a woman at College Road. In Khiali area, armed men entered the house of Mubashir and looted Rs 70,000; gold ornaments and other valuables; in Ali PurChattha, dacoits took away Rs 200,000, gold ornametns and cell phones from Arshad, at Emanabad, armed men took away four goats on gun point from Musharaf; in Ferozwala, robbers looted Rs 17 thousands, motorcycle and cell phone from Munir, bandits snatched Rs.40 thousands, locket set from Mehran in SadarWazirabad area, at Sohdra armed men entered in the house of Abdul Rehman and looted Rs 70,000, gold ornaments and cell phones; in Satellite Town Market, swindlers took away Rs 100,000, cell phone and gold ornaments from a woman; in Aroop, Amir was deprived of Rs 20,000 and cell phone on gun point; in Saddar Kamoki, bandits snatched Rs150,000, gold rings and cell phones from Hammad, at Emanabad, robbers intercepted Husnaian and snatched Rs 50,000, a gold chain and cell phone on gun point; in Saddar Wazirabad, Khawar was deprived of Rs 73,000, gold ornaments and cell phones on gun point. In theft incidents, thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and valuables from the houses of Hassan, Ishaq, Sultan, Tayyab, Mubashir, Rana Waqas, Asghar and Mudassar. Cars owned by Zulifqar, Luqman and motorcycles of Azam and Tahir were stolen from different places.

Rich tribute paid to APS martyrs: Third anniversary of the martyred students of APS was observed in Gujranwala. Students of various schools lit candles to remember APS martyrs. A ceremony was also held at Gulshan Park Gujranwala. Students of dozens of schools participated. Speakers said that after the incident, the nation had got together to take action against terrorism. The participants paid tribute to the brave children and teachers of APS.

Two shot dead: Two persons were gunned down on Saturday. Armed men opened fire at a car in Model Town. Shabir Mehar, Khalid Meher and one unidentified person received bullet injuries. They were taken to DHQ Hospital where Shabbir Mehar died. In another incident, a gunman shot dead a man, Babar, over old enmity.

Two workers injured: Two workers received burn injuries when a factory caught fire at Tatleyali, Gujranwala. They were working in a plastic factory where a fire erupted. Arshad and Babar Hussain received burn injuries and were taken to the DHQ hospital.
