‘Dabang’ actress Sonakshi Sinha’s latest project ‘Noor’ hit the cinemas on April 21. Ahead of the release, there was a special screening of the movie that took place in Mumbai. Sonakshi’s parents Poonam Sinha and her father Shatrughan Sinha graced the event with their presence. However, Sonakshi wasn’t present. According to sources, the twenty-nine years old actress couldn’t attend the special screening because she had to head out of Auckland for Salman Khan’s DaBangg concert tour. The tour is star-studded with big names like Prabhu Deva, Daisy Shah, Bipasha Basu and rapper Badshah on board. Sonakshi was a part of the tour. On the very opening day, ‘Noor’ received a very low response and only managed to collect Rs. 1.54 crore. While Sonakshi has mentioned on several occasions that Noor was the most thrilling project for her and character was very relatable that she has ever played on screen, it just wasn’t amusing enough. The performance was described as ‘below expectation’. According to sources, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh expressed his disappointed in a tweet, stating, “#Noor has a dull start. 1.54 crore [1450 screens].India biz. Needs a major jump over the weekend to leave a mark.” Previously, Sonakshi had worked in ‘Akira’, which had appealed a high number of audiences. Noor marks to be her second women-centered film. It is directed by Sunhil Sippy, and features Kanan Gill and Shibani Dandekar.
