DADU/SHIKARPUR: Sindhi Cultural Day was celebrated in Dadu with great enthusiasm. Several rallies were taken out by citizens, political parties, writers, singers, artists and students. Members of local Sindhi television channels took out rallies in which local journalists Wali Mohammad Chandio, Nizamuddin Shaikh, Tariq Leghari, Ghous Bux Jhatyal, Naveed Qureshi and others participated. Pakistan People’s Party- Shaheed Bhutto took out a rally on the occasion led by District President Ali Muhammad Jamali. He said that Sindhi people were rich in history and culture. PPP took out a rally from Municipal Park to Dadu Press Club, led by Dadu Municipal Committee Chairman Gul Hassan Qambrani. He announced that PPP would celebrate this cultural day every year. Cell phone market association also took out a rally from mobile market to press club. Different political, educational and social welfare associations and private schools also took out rallies in Dadu. Singers Zamir Abbas, Wazir, Farhad Solangi, Aijaz Mangi, Balak Sindhi, Sajad Solangi and Mustafa Birohi performed at local press club. People wore ajraks and traditional dresses and performed traditional dances to celebrate the day. Tight security measures were taken on the directives of Dadu SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar. In Qasimabad, various political and civil society groups took out rallies to celebrate the day. Rally of Sindh United Party Sehwan led by Ali Asgher Solangi and Jamshoro District Press Club, in collaboration with Sindhi media group and Awami Ittihad, organised a musical gathering. The day was also celebrated in Mehar, KN Shah, Johi, Radhan, Khudabad, Sehwan, Khanoth, Sann, Manjhand, Bhan Syedabad, Jamshoro, Kotri and Nooriabad towns. In Tharparkar, social activists, journalists, poets, writers and artists participated in the activities wearing Thari dresses, Sindhi caps and ajrak to express their love and affection for their cultural heritage. Meanwhile, a large number of people participated in programmes and rallies held in Shikarpur for the culture day with great zeal.
