The legal battle surrounding Hera Pheri 3 has intensified after Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films LLP, issued a public legal notice claiming exclusive rights over the film. The move follows director Priyadarshan’s recent decision to leave the project, adding fresh uncertainty to one of Bollywood’s most anticipated comedy sequels.
According to the notice, Cape of Good Films LLP holds the sole and exclusive authority to produce, distribute, market and commercially exploit Hera Pheri 3. The company stated that it possesses an irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual and unrestricted licence covering the film across all platforms, formats and distribution channels.

Furthermore, the production house warned distributors, exhibitors, cinema chains, OTT platforms, television broadcasters, advertisers, licensors, aggregators and other entertainment businesses against signing agreements with any third party claiming rights to the film. It stressed that any transaction made without its prior written approval could lead to legal action.
The latest development comes after Priyadarshan stepped away from directing the film, increasing concerns over the project’s future. Hera Pheri 3 has already faced multiple setbacks in recent months, including Paresh Rawal’s temporary exit before he later returned to the cast alongside longtime co-stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.
