Savannah Guthrie makes emotional plea in mother’s disappearance

Published on: June 23, 2026 6:53 PM

Savannah Guthrie became emotional during a television appearance after investigators confirmed the existence of a ransom note linked to the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie. The note reportedly claimed that the 84-year-old woman had died, adding a painful new development to a case that has deeply affected the family for months.

Holding back tears, Guthrie spoke openly about the ongoing anguish experienced by her relatives since her mother went missing. She described the emotional burden carried daily by her siblings, extended family members and children, saying the uncertainty surrounding the case continues to impact every aspect of their lives.

The television host addressed the matter after reports emerged that a ransom note allegedly sent by the abductors contained information suggesting Nancy Guthrie had died and was buried in a remote natural location. The reported message has intensified concerns while investigators continue working to verify all available evidence connected to the case.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, when authorities say she was abducted from her home in Arizona. Since then, law enforcement agencies have pursued multiple leads, with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI continuing a joint effort to locate her and identify those responsible.

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie urged the public to come forward with any information that could help investigators. She emphasized that even the smallest detail could prove valuable and reminded potential witnesses that information can be provided anonymously through established channels.

Despite the latest troubling development, Guthrie vowed that her family would continue searching for answers. She expressed hope that someone with knowledge of the case would step forward, stressing that their determination to find the truth and seek justice for Nancy Guthrie remains unwavering.
