ATC extends judicial remand of PTI activist Falak Javed

Published on: June 18, 2026 9:52 AM

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of PTI activist Falak Javed by 14 days in a case pertaining to the alleged attack on Islamabad police officials at Zaman Park.

ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the case and ordered that the accused be sent back to jail after extending her judicial remand.

Falak Javed was produced before the court upon expiry of her previous judicial remand. During the proceedings, the investigating officer requested an extension in her remand and informed the court that preparation of a supplementary challan was underway and would be submitted shortly.

Accepting the request, the court extended the judicial remand of the accused for another 14 days.

According to the prosecution, Falak Javed was allegedly involved in an attack on Islamabad police personnel along with other PTI workers at Zaman Park. Police claimed that several officers and officials sustained injuries during the incident and that a petrol bomb was recovered from the accused.

The prosecution further alleged that Islamabad police had arrived at Zaman Park to execute summons issued to the PTI founder when party workers resisted the operation and allegedly hurled petrol bombs at law enforcement personnel.

A case in connection with the incident was registered at Race Course Police Station under FIR No. 410/23.

Separately, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Punjab Assembly Member Ali Imtiaz Warraich and several other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers in the Jinnah House attack case.

ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings and extended the interim bail of the accused till July 20. The court also directed the prosecution to produce the complete record of the case at the next hearing.

During the proceedings, the prosecution sought additional time to submit the case record. Accepting the request, the court instructed the prosecution to ensure production of the record at the next hearing and directed defence counsel to complete their arguments on the bail petitions. PTI MPA Ali Imtiaz Warraich, Owais Younis and other party workers appeared before the court to mark their attendance.

The accused have sought pre-arrest bail in connection with the Jinnah House attack case. PTI women workers Syeda Fatima and Rukhsana Naveed are also among the petitioners seeking interim bail. Other PTI workers who have filed pre-arrest bail petitions include Kamran Saleem, Hasnain Ali, Taqi Khan, Adnan Ali, Farman-ur-Rehman and Ammar Nadeem.
