Israeli drones launched fresh strikes across southern Lebanon on Wednesday, injuring several people in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts. The attacks come amid growing regional tensions and renewed disputes over a recent Iran-US understanding. Residents of southern Lebanon remain directly affected as violence continues despite ceasefire efforts.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli drones carried out three attacks in Tyre and another strike in the Bint Jbeil district. The latest incidents followed a series of deadly attacks a day earlier. Lebanese authorities reported that multiple Israeli strikes on Tuesday killed at least four people in Nabatieh governorate.
Meanwhile, Iran accused Israel of repeatedly violating the Lebanon truce framework. Tehran claimed Israel breached the ceasefire 84 times since the memorandum of understanding was reached with Washington. Iranian officials warned that continued attacks and the ongoing Israeli military presence in southern Lebanon could trigger a strong response.
Furthermore, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the conflict cannot be considered over while Israeli forces remain in occupied Lebanese territory. Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters also warned Israel to expect a harsh reaction if strikes continue. In addition, Iranian officials urged the United States to pressure Israel to halt military operations and withdraw troops.
Despite diplomatic efforts, uncertainty remains across southern Lebanon. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israeli forces will continue their presence in the area. Local residents expressed concern about the future, citing decades of conflict and insecurity. Since fighting resumed on March 2, Lebanon’s health ministry says Israeli attacks have killed 3,826 people and wounded 11,851 others.
