UAE calls for US-Iran compliance

Published on: June 15, 2026 11:55 PM

The United Arab Emirates on Monday welcomed the US-Iran peace agreement and called for full compliance with its terms. The statement is significant as it reflects strong Gulf support for stabilizing regional tensions. Energy markets, maritime trade, and Middle East diplomacy are directly affected by the development.

The UAE Foreign Ministry said all parties must strictly adhere to the agreement and ensure an immediate end to hostilities. Moreover, it emphasized respect for state sovereignty and good neighborly relations. Officials also highlighted the importance of international law in maintaining regional stability.

In addition, Abu Dhabi stressed the need to protect maritime routes and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE said uninterrupted shipping access is essential for global trade and energy security. As a result, it urged continued international coordination on maritime safety.

Furthermore, the ministry praised mediation efforts led by US President Donald Trump and other involved parties. It called for continued negotiations to build on the current progress. Officials said diplomacy remains the best path toward lasting regional peace.

Meanwhile, the US-Iran agreement includes a ceasefire, reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and an end to military hostilities. Observers say Gulf states are closely watching implementation as regional stability remains fragile. The situation continues to evolve as diplomatic steps move forward.
