Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has claimed that the government’s new federal budget is centered on public relief and does not impose any new taxes on low-income citizens. He said the government has taken significant steps toward ensuring budget promises fulfilled and that Pakistan is entering a new era of economic prosperity.
Speaking during the National Assembly’s budget session, Tarar stated that the budget addresses the needs and demands of various segments of society. According to him, the country has achieved macroeconomic stability, and the positive impact of the government’s economic policies is becoming increasingly visible.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) assumed power during a period of severe economic challenges. Tarar added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prioritized national interests over politics and made difficult decisions, including entering an IMF program, which he described as essential for achieving the current economic recovery.
The information minister also highlighted tax measures in the budget, stating that individuals earning up to Rs50,000 per month will not pay any income tax. He added that those earning between Rs50,000 and Rs100,000 monthly will be subject to a tax rate of only one percent. According to Tarar, the budget creates space for different sectors and seeks to provide relief across society.
Tarar further said that Pakistan’s international image is improving and that the world is recognizing the peace efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He maintained that the country’s green passport is gaining greater respect globally and that Pakistan is moving steadily toward development, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring budget promises fulfilled.
