Pakistani actor Mehwish Hayat has shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set of her latest film “Zombeid,” highlighting her experience working with co-star Fahad Mustafa and describing him as “the most fun co-star” she has ever worked with.
The film, which was released on Eidul Azha last month, has been promoted as Pakistan’s first zombie-themed thriller and continues to run in cinemas nationwide. It features Hayat and Mustafa in leading roles as characters navigating chaos inside a gym-based survival setting.
On Thursday, Hayat posted a photo dump on Instagram showcasing candid moments from the shoot. The images included the lead pair in gym outfits, playful on-set interactions, and action sequences such as riding a motorcycle together and performing stunt work, including hanging from a rope ladder.
In her caption, Hayat reflected on the contrast between the intense on-screen narrative and the lighthearted atmosphere behind the camera. She wrote that while audiences saw her character Zara and Fahad Mustafa’s character Wali fighting to survive a zombie outbreak, the set was filled with laughter, humour and creative energy.
She also thanked Mustafa for his positive presence during the shoot, crediting him for bringing strong energy and making the filming experience enjoyable. According to Hayat, the memories from the production will remain a lasting highlight of her career.
The two actors also interacted in the comment section of the post, where Mustafa responded with gratitude, and Hayat replied with a playful GIF referring to him as “my hero,” drawing attention from fans.
Zombeid continues to screen in theatres, with audiences showing steady interest in the genre experiment within Pakistani cinema.
The film’s promotional buzz has also been linked to discussions around cinema screenings and scheduling flexibility, as filmmakers and actors continue advocating for improved conditions for local releases.
