The Punjab School Education Department has allowed the establishment of summer camps in public and private schools across the province during summer vacations from June 1 to June 30, 2026, subject to strict terms and conditions. According to an official notification, the camps will be held from Monday to Thursday, while Friday will remain off. The timing for all activities has been fixed from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. The notification stated that participation in the camps will be voluntary and subject to the prior consent of parents. It added that no extra or additional fee will be charged by private schools, while government schools and teachers have also been barred from collecting any tuition fee. The notification further directed that all activities must be conducted indoors to ensure the safety of students amid prevailing weather conditions. Schools have been instructed to ensure provision of basic facilities, including cleanliness, availability of clean drinking water, fans, seating arrangements, and electricity backup in case of load shedding. Moreover, school administrations have also been directed to arrange first aid facilities with sufficient supplies. Students attending the camps will not be required to wear uniforms and may use weather-friendly clothing. The department has warned that strict legal action will be taken against institutions found violating the instructions, directing chief executive officers (DEAs) and heads of institutions to ensure full compliance in letter and spirit.
