Published on: June 4, 2026 2:40 AM

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday met Federal Minister for Law and Azam Nazeer Tarar and discussed constitutional and legal matters, the prevailing political situation, and issues related to the legal fraternity.

During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law in the country, as well as constitutional issues arising from the current political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They also discussed the establishment of constitutional courts and the role of the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding related matters.

Governor Kundi apprised the federal minister of the issues being faced by lawyers, particularly in the southern districts of the province.

Matters relating to the provision of grants to the High Court Bar Association, District Bar Associations of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Paharpur, as well as Tehsil Bar Associations of Kulachi, Parova and Daraban also came under discussion.

The meeting further reviewed proposals for the provision of computers and modern technology to bar councils and bar associations to improve legal services and administrative efficiency.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said that strong and active bar associations played a vital role in the administration of justice, adding that the provision of better facilities to lawyers would help make the judicial system more effective.

The two sides also discussed various proposals and measures aimed at resolving the problems faced by the legal community, improving the judicial system and enhancing legal facilities.

Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar assured full cooperation for addressing lawyers’ issues and supporting bar associations.

Both leaders emphasized the need to strengthen constitutional institutions, promote democratic values and further reinforce the rule of law in the country.
