Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Khan Kakar chaired an important meeting to address petrol supply issues in the city, directing officials and stakeholders to ensure smooth distribution and prevent hoarding.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Assistant Commissioner City Quetta Amir Hamza, representatives of oil marketing companies, OGRA, and the dealers’ association. Oil company representatives briefed the Commissioner that approximately 315,000 liters of petrol are en route to Quetta, and its arrival is expected to significantly improve the current situation.
Commissioner Shahzaib Kakar instructed all registered petrol pump owners to immediately submit their demand requests to the respective oil companies.
He warned that dealers failing to follow the prescribed procedure would face strict action. He emphasized that once demand is submitted, it is the responsibility of oil companies to ensure timely supply.
To guarantee fair distribution, the meeting decided that petrol will not be sold in cans or bottles at fuel stations. Citizens were urged to cooperate with pump owners and avoid unnecessary stockpiling.
For maintaining law and order, police authorities were directed to increase patrols around petrol pumps to ensure discipline and prevent inconvenience to the public.
Commissioner Shahzaib Kakar assured that the district administration and relevant institutions are utilizing all available resources to normalize petrol supply. He appealed to citizens to remain patient and ignore rumors, stressing that the situation is under constant monitoring and supply will soon return to normal.
