Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is incorporating measures in the upcoming federal budget aimed at providing relief to the public while continuing efforts to strengthen economic stability and growth.

The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation of leading industrialists and business figures, including Mian Mansha, Arif Habib, Atif Bajwa, Muhammad Ali Tabba, Musaddiq Zulqarnain and Ziad Bashir, among others.
Addressing the delegation, Shehbaz Sharif praised the role of Pakistan’s business community, describing its members as ambassadors of the country who contribute significantly to promoting Pakistan’s image and economic interests internationally. He also thanked the private sector for supporting the government during challenging economic conditions.

The prime minister emphasised that a strong partnership between the government and the private sector is essential for sustainable economic development. He said consultation with the business community remains an important part of policymaking, particularly on economic and investment-related matters.
Highlighting the government’s economic priorities, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is pursuing an export-led growth strategy, which remains at the centre of its broader economic agenda. He added that efforts are also underway to expand the tax base by bringing segments of the informal economy into the documented sector.
The premier stated that the forthcoming budget would include initiatives designed to provide relief to citizens facing financial pressures. However, he did not specify the exact measures under consideration.
Shehbaz Sharif also noted that business-friendly policies introduced by the government have contributed to improved economic stability and helped restore the confidence of foreign investors. He said the government is focused on promoting industries that can increase domestic production, create employment opportunities and support long-term economic growth.
