Kinza defends Ali Raza over viral clip

Published on: May 22, 2026 10:45 PM

Kinza Hashmi has defended her co-star Ali Raza after a viral video showed him lifting a fan away during a meet-and-greet event in Karachi. The clip sparked debate online, with some criticising the action while others supported it as protective behaviour. The incident took place during a public fan interaction on Sunday.

Hashmi said she interacted with fans throughout the event, and most maintained respectful boundaries. However, she said one fan crossed personal limits by coming too close without consent. She added that public appearances still require respect for personal space, especially for women celebrities.

She explained that Ali Raza stepped in after she felt uncomfortable in the situation. According to her, his action was not meant to insult or humiliate anyone. Instead, she described it as a “protective instinct” to ensure her safety during a crowded moment.

The actor acknowledged that the situation could have been handled more carefully. However, she emphasised that Raza has consistently shown respect toward fans in other interactions. She urged people not to judge his character based on a single incident.

Meanwhile, the fan involved claimed he was mistreated and said he only approached for a picture. He compared the experience to other meet-and-greet events he had attended, saying this incident felt unfair. The contrasting accounts have fuelled an ongoing debate on celebrity-fan boundaries and public conduct.
