ICCI, Iranian embassy vow to boost bilateral trade and connectivity

Published on: May 20, 2026 5:11 AM

Pakistan has played a highly commendable and constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region through diplomacy and dialogue, and its unwavering solidarity with the Iranian nation during recent tensions is deeply appreciated,

This was stated by Mohsin Shahbazi, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with Dr. Samaneh Kamali Moghaddam, Second Secretary. They held an interactive session with the ICCI leadership and members of the business community to discuss opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade, economic cooperation and regional connectivity between Pakistan and Iran. Mohsin Shahbazi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for extending solidarity with the Iranian nation and for playing a positive mediatory role between Iran and the United States. He said Pakistan’s efforts for peace and regional harmony were truly praiseworthy and reflected the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two neighbouring countries. He observed that crises often create new opportunities for stronger multilateral cooperation and emphasized that Pakistan and Iran possess enormous potential to expand bilateral economic and commercial relations.

Highlighting the strategic significance of regional connectivity, he underlined the importance of the ports of both countries in enhancing trade linkages with Central Asian states and other international markets.

The Iranian diplomat assured the business community that the Embassy of Iran remains fully committed to facilitating Pakistani businessmen, particularly members of ICCI, in matters relating to visas, trade cooperation and business connectivity.
