Registration of vehicles from other provinces begins in Punjab

Published on: May 18, 2026 2:23 AM

The Excise Department Punjab has started implementing a new policy of vehicles registration from other provinces.

For the convenience of citizens and to increase revenue, the Excise Department has decided to simplify the process of registration of inter-provincial vehicles, official sources said on Sunday.

Under the new policy, vehicles registered in other provinces can now be registered in Punjab as well.

According to Excise Department officials, NOC and clearance from the Excise Department of the relevant province have been made mandatory for the registration of another provincial vehicle.

Citizens will have to submit NOC to the Punjab Excise Office, after which the registration process will be completed.

Officials say that the aim of this move is to make the process of transferring vehicles easier for citizens and increase government revenue. The registration of the first inter-provincial vehicle has been completed in Lahore, while applications have also started being received at excise offices.
