Four killed as Israel escalates Lebanon attacks

Published on: May 6, 2026 9:13 PM

At least four people, including women, have been killed in renewed Israeli strikes in Lebanon, according to Arab media reports. The attacks mark an escalation in cross-border violence and have further heightened regional tensions. Civilians in multiple areas have been directly affected.

Israeli forces carried out heavy shelling in southern Lebanon and airstrikes in the eastern region. The bombardment reportedly struck several villages, causing casualties and widespread damage. Residential areas were among those impacted, raising concerns over civilian safety.

In the Bekaa Valley village of Zaliaya, multiple people were injured, including children, some of whom are in critical condition. Additional strikes targeted areas near Tyre and surrounding towns. The expansion of attacks has intensified fear among local communities.

Further shelling was reported in multiple nearby localities, including Al-Ma’iyya al-Shaab, Tir Harfa, Majdal Zoun, and other villages. The widespread nature of the strikes has deepened humanitarian concerns. Emergency services are struggling to respond to the growing number of casualties.
