Apple's foldable iPhone: Design, battery, and durability details leaked - India Today

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, reportedly dubbed the “iPhone Ultra,” is once again in the spotlight as fresh leaks and dummy unit visuals offer a clearer glimpse of what the device may look like ahead of its expected September launch.

According to a YouTube video circulating online, physical dummy models of the device reveal a book-style folding design that sets it apart from existing foldable smartphones. When closed, the device appears more compact and box-like, while unfolding transforms it into a larger display experience resembling a tablet.

The leaked design suggests that Apple may take a different approach from competitors, prioritizing a wider body rather than an elongated screen. When unfolded, the device is expected to feature a 7.8-inch display, while the external screen could measure around 5.5 inches.

The video also highlights several design choices, including volume buttons placed near the top edge and speakers positioned on opposite corners. On the rear, the device appears to carry a dual-camera setup consistent with Apple’s signature iPhone styling, though with a more centered and balanced layout.

Leaked specifications indicate that the foldable iPhone could run on Apple’s A20 Pro chip and may include a large battery estimated at 5,500 mAh. Reports also suggest that the camera module may resemble the iPhone Air design but with a fully black finish, incorporating two lenses, a microphone, and a flash unit.

Dimensions shared in leaks suggest the phone could measure approximately 117.71 mm in height and 84.27 mm in width when folded. Analysts believe Apple is aiming to position the device as a hybrid between an iPhone and an iPad experience, potentially targeting premium users seeking multitasking flexibility.
