Netanyahu vows Israel will continue campaign against Iran

Published on: April 12, 2026 1:19 PM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel will continue its campaign against Iran, emphasizing that the military effort is far from over despite ongoing diplomatic developments in the region. His remarks came as tensions remain high across the Middle East and international efforts to reduce conflict continue through diplomatic negotiations. Netanyahu’s comments signaled that Israel intends to maintain pressure on Iran while closely monitoring regional developments.

While addressing the situation, Netanyahu also confirmed his support for peace negotiations with Lebanon, indicating that diplomatic engagement with neighboring states remains important. However, he made it clear that Israel’s confrontation with Iran continues simultaneously and that Israeli forces are still engaged in efforts to counter what he described as ongoing threats. According to Netanyahu, the campaign remains active because several strategic objectives have yet to be fully achieved.

The statement comes at a time when the United States and Iran are involved in sensitive diplomatic talks aimed at reducing tensions, with Pakistan playing a mediating role. These negotiations are part of broader international efforts to stabilize the region following months of heightened conflict and military activity. Despite these diplomatic initiatives, Israel’s leadership continues to express strong concerns regarding Iran’s regional influence and nuclear ambitions.

Netanyahu also highlighted what he described as several achievements of Israel’s military campaign against Iranian targets and capabilities. He claimed that Israeli operations had significantly damaged Iran’s nuclear program and disrupted elements of its strategic infrastructure. Nevertheless, the Israeli leader stressed that these actions have not fully eliminated the threat, noting that additional measures may still be required.

Furthermore, Netanyahu pointed out that enriched nuclear material associated with Iran’s nuclear activities still exists, which he described as a major security concern. Referring to the position previously expressed by Donald Trump, he said such material must ultimately be removed to prevent further escalation. According to Netanyahu, this objective could be achieved either through a comprehensive diplomatic agreement or through alternative measures if negotiations fail.

Overall, the Israeli leader’s remarks underline the complex balance between diplomacy and military strategy currently shaping the region. While negotiations involving global powers continue in the background, Israel appears determined to pursue its security goals until it believes the perceived threat from Iran has been fully addressed.
