Punjab has rejected a proposal to close markets at 8pm, maintaining existing business hours across the province. The decision matters as it protects economic activity and avoids disruption for traders and consumers. Shopkeepers and businesses will continue operating until 10pm under the agreed arrangement.
According to sources, recommendations presented to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were not approved. Instead, authorities agreed that markets across Punjab will remain open until 10pm. This decision follows concerns raised by traders regarding reduced working hours and potential financial losses.
