According to District Police Officer Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, 400,000 to 500,000 visitors are expected to travel to Murree during the holiday period. Last year, traffic records show that on the first day of Eid, 28,688 vehicles entered Murree, followed by 51,380, 57,855, and 35,119 vehicles over the next three days. Judicial orders limit daily vehicle entry to 8,000, though this number may rise to 12,000 during peak days.
Tourists are urged to download the Safe Tourism Murree app prior to traveling. The app provides instant access to emergency services including police, Rescue 1122, traffic police, and motorway patrols. It also features a virtual women’s police station, direct WhatsApp contact with the DPO, information on hotels and tourist spots, and up-to-date weather alerts.
Authorities have also cautioned visitors about possible rain and wind during Eid, emphasizing careful driving and adherence to traffic regulations. Women travelers are encouraged to use the app’s dedicated facilities for enhanced safety and support.
In case of emergencies, residents and tourists can dial the emergency helpline 15 or use the mobile app to contact relevant agencies.
