12 Pakistani Youth Kidnapped in Iran After Europe Travel Scam

Published on: July 15, 2026 11:52 PM

Pakistani Youth Kidnapped

Twelve Pakistani youths were kidnapped in Iran after being lured with false promises of being sent to Europe by human smugglers. The Pakistani Youth Kidnapped in Iran case has raised serious concerns after the smugglers allegedly tortured the victims, sent videos to their families, and demanded a ransom of $6,000 per person.

According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the victims had paid money to be transported to Italy through Iran. A criminal case has been registered, and raids are underway to arrest those involved. Special investigation teams have also been formed to recover the kidnapped youths.

Officials said they are working with relevant authorities abroad to trace the victims. Meanwhile, two Pakistani citizens, identified as Talha and Shehzad, safely reached the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran. Both are residents of Pasin village in Lahore.

Initial investigations revealed that seven of the twelve missing youths are from Lahore. Human smugglers reportedly took them to Iran through Balochistan after promising to send them to Italy via Türkiye. The smugglers collected thousands of dollars in advance and told the victims that the remaining payment would be made after they reached Europe.

After arriving in Iran, the youths were allegedly held hostage at an unknown location. FIA officials said every available resource is being used to secure their release, while close coordination with Iranian authorities continues. The Pakistani Youth Kidnapped in Iran case highlights the growing danger of illegal migration networks and human trafficking.
