Pakistan faces India in 2026 Hockey World Cup

The groups for the 2026 Men’s Hockey World Cup have been announced, placing Pakistan in a challenging pool alongside traditional rival India. Pakistan will also face strong teams including England and Wales as part of Pool D, considered the toughest group of the tournament. The announcement comes ahead of the World Cup scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands from August 14 to 30, 2026.

A total of 16 teams have qualified for the tournament and are divided into four groups of four teams each, ensuring competitive matches in the group stage. Pakistan’s placement in Pool D highlights the tough challenge the national team will face to advance to the knockout rounds. Analysts say matches against India and England will be crucial for Pakistan’s prospects in the tournament.

The World Cup will feature top international teams showcasing elite hockey talent, with matches hosted across venues in Belgium and the Netherlands. Organizers have confirmed that strict protocols and international broadcasting arrangements will ensure a global audience for the tournament.

Fans and sports enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating key clashes, particularly the Pakistan-India encounter, which always attracts high viewership and intense rivalry. The Pakistani Hockey Federation is preparing the team rigorously to face the group-stage challenges and aim for a strong showing.
