Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the police force has played a frontline role in the war against terrorism and that the nation is living in a peaceful environment today owing to the immense sacrifices rendered by the martyrs. He expressed these views in a message issued on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the martyrs of the suicide blast at the Raiwind Ijtema.
On the occasion, visits were made to the graves of Police Guard martyrs Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Aslam and Manzoor Ahmad, Constables Zafar Iqbal and Muhammad Saeed. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a salute at the graves, laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Aslam, Sub-Inspector Manzoor Ahmad and Constable Muhammad Saeed embraced martyrdom in the suicide blast at the Raiwind Ijtema on March 14, 2018. Constable Zafar Iqbal was martyred on the same day. CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana paid tribute to the courage of the martyrs and the steadfastness of their families. He added that the welfare and well-being of the families of martyrs would always remain a top priority and that Lahore Police would never forget the sacrifices rendered by its brave personnel.
