The Pakistan Army carried out a strong retaliatory strike against militant positions in the Zhob sector along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, security officials confirmed on Wednesday. The action formed part of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, an ongoing military campaign aimed at countering militant groups responsible for cross-border threats and terrorist activities inside Pakistan.
According to security sources, Pakistani forces targeted two strategic positions known as Posts No. 2 and 3, which were reportedly being used by Afghan Taliban fighters in the Zhob district sector. The swift and coordinated military response forced the militants to abandon their positions and retreat toward nearby mountainous terrain, leaving behind weapons and other equipment.

During the operation, Pakistani troops seized several weapons from the deserted posts, including Russian-made 73mm HGL-9 heavy grenade launchers. Officials said the recovery of these weapons indicates the militants were heavily armed and using the positions to support hostile activities along the sensitive border region.
Security officials further stated that the latest action reflects Pakistan’s determination to eliminate militant threats and protect national security. They added that recent counterterrorism operations have intensified across border regions, making it increasingly difficult for militant groups to maintain their operational bases or launch attacks from these areas.

Furthermore, military authorities emphasised that Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq will continue until its objectives are fully achieved. The campaign aims to dismantle militant infrastructure, secure vulnerable border sectors, and prevent cross-border infiltration that threatens stability in surrounding districts.
Officials also stressed that Pakistani forces remain vigilant along the border and are prepared to respond decisively to any hostile activity. They said continued operations will focus on clearing remaining militant hideouts and strengthening security in strategic regions to maintain long-term peace and stability.
