LAHORE: Three Muslim clerics were allegedly assaulted by unidentified persons in a moving train in Uttar Pradesh, India, leaving them injured. The three clerics – Gulzar, Israr and Abrar – who teach at a madrassa said they were about to get off at their destination when six men in their coach bolted the exits and began beating them, even using an iron rod used as an icepick, reported NDTV. All three have sustained severe wounds and are being treated at the district hospital in Baghpat. It has also been alleged that the three clerics were thrown out of the train, but the police did not confirm it. A case was registered against six unidentified persons at the Baghpat Kotwali police station.
