Ukraine said its forces struck a Russian ballistic missile manufacturing plant in the remote Udmurtia region, targeting a key defense facility in the town of Votkinsk. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the operation and described it as a precision missile strike. Officials stated that the plant produces critical weapons used in ongoing military operations. The attack marks another escalation in cross-border strikes during the prolonged war.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the facility manufactures short-range Iskander missile systems and the intercontinental Topol-M missile. The plant lies roughly 1,400 kilometers east of Ukraine and east of Moscow, highlighting the depth of the strike. Ukrainian officials said they used domestically produced Flamingo cruise missiles in the operation. They reported that the attack caused a fire at the site.
Meanwhile, regional officials in Udmurtia confirmed that a site was attacked overnight and reported damage and injuries. The regional governor stated that drones were involved but provided limited details about the extent of destruction. Aviation authorities temporarily suspended operations at airports in the regional capital Izhevsk and nearby cities. These precautionary measures reflected growing security concerns across the region.

In addition, unofficial Russian sources reported that residents in Votkinsk heard multiple explosions and drone activity during the night. Social media channels often linked to security contacts echoed similar accounts of disturbances. However, Russian officials did not immediately release comprehensive information about casualties or structural damage. The situation remained under assessment as emergency services responded to the incident.
Ukrainian authorities said they also targeted a gas processing plant in the Russian region of Samara Oblast, although local Russian officials did not confirm the strike. Kyiv argues that attacking weapons production sites and energy infrastructure reduces Russia’s military capability. Moreover, Ukraine stated that such strikes aim to weaken supply chains supporting missile and drone operations. The war, now approaching its fifth year, continues to expand across long distances.
