Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga battle for grammy glory

The Grammy Awards are set to electrify Los Angeles as music superstars Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga compete for the prestigious Album of the Year, each aiming to make history.

Kendrick Lamar, the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper, leads this year with nine nominations for his album GNX, including Record and Song of the Year for his hit collaboration Luther featuring SZA.

Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican sensation, is also a top contender with his album Debi Tirar Mas Fotos, celebrated for its fusion of traditional rhythms and socially conscious themes, while touring globally.

Lady Gaga, returning to the spotlight with her Mayhem album, secured seven nominations, blending dark pop with theatrical performances, and previously won Record and Song of the Year for Shallow from A Star Is Born.

Other top nominees include Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, the Creator, and Clipse, while emerging artists like Olivia Dean and TikTok star Addison Rae compete for Best New Artist, reflecting the Grammys’ evolving diversity.

The awards will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, with performances by Gaga, Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Lauryn Hill, highlighting rap, reggaeton, K-pop, and pop genres, signaling changes in the Recording Academy’s younger, more diverse voting base.
