WhatsApp, the globally popular messaging app owned by Meta, is reportedly developing a new subscription plan that will offer users a range of exclusive and premium features to enhance the messaging experience.
The subscription plan is currently in the beta phase for Android users, with WhatsApp focusing on customization options and tools that go beyond its earlier ad-free offering in Europe and the UK.
Earlier, the optional subscription removed ads from the Updates tab, ensuring users would no longer see promoted channels or ads in status updates, improving the overall interface and minimizing distractions for paying members.

WhatsApp’s upcoming plan aims to offer more than just an ad-free experience. According to beta version 2.26.4.8, the subscription will unlock features like premium stickers, new app themes, and the ability to pin more than three chats.
Additional perks may include exclusive chat ringtones, app icon customization, and other enhancements, while Meta assures users that privacy protections will remain unchanged, whether they opt for the paid plan or continue using the free version.
The subscription price has not yet been revealed and is expected to vary by region. Interested users can join a waitlist and receive notifications once the subscription model officially launches globally.
