
Pakistan and China reaffirmed their unshakeable strategic partnership during Chinese Vice Minister Sun Haiyan’s visit. She met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Both sides emphasized timely implementation of the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During her meeting with Sharif, Sun Haiyan highlighted China’s commitment to strengthening relations across all fields. The prime minister called the Pakistan-China partnership “all-weather” and built on mutual trust and shared interests. He invited President Xi Jinping for an official visit this year.

Sharif stressed CPEC’s timely progress and praised China’s support for Pakistan’s economic development. He noted 2026 marks a milestone as both countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations. The anniversary reflects decades of cooperation and shared progress.

Sun Haiyan congratulated Pakistan on political and economic stability. She lauded Sharif’s efforts to unite political forces and highlighted strong party-to-party ties between China and Pakistan. She reaffirmed China’s resolve to deepen bilateral cooperation and long-term collaboration.

During a separate meeting with Ishaq Dar, both sides discussed regional issues, cultural cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges. Dar said such engagement strengthens the “iron friendship” between the two nations. Both agreed to celebrate the 75th anniversary throughout the year.
