
Pakistan Navy conducted a major exercise in the North Arabian Sea, featuring live missile tests and unmanned systems. The drills validated combat readiness and demonstrated modern naval capabilities. A key moment was the successful firing of the LY-80(N) Surface-to-Air Missile from a vertical launcher. The missile hit an aerial target at extended range, proving Pakistan Navy’s long-range air defence capability. This exercise reinforces the Navy’s ability to respond swiftly to evolving aerial threats.

The drills also showcased loitering munitions striking surface targets with precision. These weapons successfully destroyed designated targets, demonstrating effectiveness in modern naval warfare. Additionally, unmanned surface vessels (USVs) underwent open-sea trials, showing speed, manoeuvrability, and resilience in harsh conditions.
ISPR emphasized that the USVs offer low-risk, high-impact operational solutions with stealth and tactical advantages. The Commander Pakistan Fleet observed the exercises, which tested integrated operational coordination across multiple platforms. These trials reflect Pakistan Navy’s push toward autonomous and technologically advanced maritime defence.
