
Security forces killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during intelligence-based operations. The engagements took place on January 8, 2026. Officials said the actions targeted militants threatening regional security.
According to ISPR, the first intelligence-based operation was conducted in North Waziristan district. Troops acted on confirmed intelligence about terrorist movement. After a heavy exchange of fire, six militants were killed on the spot.

Meanwhile, a second joint operation was carried out in Kurram district. Police and security forces coordinated closely during the mission. Consequently, five militants were neutralized after resisting arrest.
Authorities recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the killed terrorists. ISPR said the militants were involved in attacks on security forces and law enforcement agencies. They were also linked to targeted killings of innocent civilians.

ISPR added that sanitization operations are ongoing to clear remaining threats. Moreover, the counterterrorism drive will continue under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision. Officials reaffirmed commitment to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism nationwide.
