Heavy rain grounds Dubai Pakistan flights

Published on: December 19, 2025 4:35 PM

Severe rainfall has disrupted flight operations between Dubai and Pakistan, forcing airlines to cancel multiple services and delay dozens of others, causing widespread inconvenience for passengers traveling across major international routes. The poor weather conditions significantly affected both arrivals and departures throughout the day.

Airport officials confirmed that adverse weather led to the cancellation of 18 flights operating between Pakistan and Dubai and Sharjah, while 67 additional flights faced delays nationwide. These disruptions affected international connectivity and created congestion at several major airports.

Among the cancelled services were two foreign airline flights between Dubai and Karachi, along with two Faisalabad to Dubai flights suspended due to operational difficulties. Meanwhile, Lahore saw three Dubai-bound flights cancelled, adding to passenger uncertainty and extended waiting times.

Similarly, six flights from Peshawar to Dubai were grounded, while two Islamabad to Dubai flights were cancelled after heavy rain affected airport operations. These cancellations highlighted how vulnerable flight schedules remain during extreme weather conditions.

In addition, flight delays were reported across multiple airports, with Lahore experiencing disruptions to 16 flights, Karachi facing delays to 12 flights, and Islamabad recording delays affecting 21 arrivals and departures. The situation strained airport management and airline coordination efforts.

Apart from rain, dense fog worsened travel conditions at other airports, delaying eight flights at Multan and several at Sialkot, Skardu, Quetta, and Peshawar. Passengers were advised to remain in contact with airlines for updated schedules.
