Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Thursday inaugurated the T Chowk flyover and Islamabad Expressway Signal Free Corridor projects aimed at substantially improving the flow of traffic on the roads of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

He commended the Interior Minister, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and their team for completing all the projects in record time.

The T chowk flyer project also named as Iqbal Chowk flyover was completed in record time of 77 days at a cost of Rs. 1.4 billion.

After the completion of flyover projects and due to Islamabad expressway signal free corridor the issue of congestion of traffic coming from GT road to Islamabad and Rawalpindi, will be resolved.

The Prime Minister assured that the government would continue to ensure transparency and quality in projects and the journey of public service will continue.

“The illegal encroachments are a hurdle in the designing and implementation of projects in the city,” he added.
